Billing questions
- What counts as a word?
- Every word in the text you ask us to rewrite, counted once. Sentences you mark to keep exactly as written are not counted, because they are not rewritten. Scanning never counts.
- What happens when a rewrite does not help?
- If the rewrite does not lower your local style index, or every draft broke a figure or a sentence you locked, the words are handed back to your allowance automatically. You only use up words on rewrites that lowered the local style index.
- When does my allowance reset?
- The free allowance resets at midnight UTC. Paid allowances reset at the start of each billing period, on the same day your subscription renews. Unused words do not roll over.
- Why do paid plans use different models?
- We measured each model's rewrites with our local style index on the same passages. No single model won on every kind of writing, so paid rewrites are drafted by the three that did best, and the lowest-index valid draft is kept. The free tier runs the same selection on three drafts from a lower-cost model.
- How do I cancel?
- From the billing portal, linked from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
